Place Masséna is recognisable by its red arcaded façades, black-and-white paving and the Fontaine du Soleil. It connects the Old Town, Avenue Jean-Médecin, the Promenade des Anglais and Albert I Garden. It is an easy stop on a walk through the centre, with no special detour needed if you are already exploring these areas.
What to see
Look for the Fontaine du Soleil and the paving, then look up at Jaume Plensa’s seven sculptures, “Conversation à Nice”, which light up after dark. Depending on your route, continue towards the Old Town, Albert I Garden or the Promenade du Paillon.
