Cours Saleya Nice: Markets, Flowers & Local Life

Saleya Market
Cours Saleya is one of the most characteristic places in Old Nice, combining markets, food, antiques, and local street life.
Cours Saleya, a market space
Cours Saleya hosts Nice's traditional and famous flower market, open Tuesday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., except on Sunday afternoons and public holidays. You will also find local food products such as truffle olive caviar and the famous socca, as well as fruit, vegetables and French dishes. Be aware that prices are high as the customers are mainly tourists.
But it's not just this flower market that makes the Cours famous. You can also stroll through the flea market every Monday from 7.30am to 6pm, or take a walk on summer evenings and enjoy the night-time craft market and art exhibitions every summer evening from 6pm to midnight.
The Cours Saleya and its bars and restaurants
The Cours Saleya is also renowned for its many restaurants. You'll find pizzerias, brasseries, fish restaurants, grill houses, pasta restaurants and more.
There are also many bars, including Le Thor, spread over two floors, which organises mini concerts, and Les 3 Diables, which shows OGC Nice football matches, the city's Ligue 1 team.
In summer, it is really pleasant to stroll along the Cours in the evening, thanks to the illuminated restaurant terraces and the view of the castle waterfall.
