The French Riviera Pass is the destination's official pass: a single ticket that opens the doors of more than 60 museums, monuments and activities in Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes. At €30 a day, it pays for itself quickly. But like all passes, you need to know how to use it. Here is the honest calculation.
2026 prices
Three durations, one price for everyone (no child fare):
- 24h: €30
- 48h: €45
- 72h: €65
The pass activates on first use and then runs continuously (24h bought at 2 pm = valid until 2 pm the next day). One entry per site. Buy it online (instant e-ticket) or at about twenty tourist office information desks.
What's included (and what isn't)
The big chunk: Nice's municipal museums (Matisse, Masséna, Palais Lascaris, Cimiez Archaeology, Charles Nègre Photography...), the Riviera villas (Ephrussi de Rothschild, Kérylos), boat trips, the Nice little train and the open-top bus "Nice Le Grand Tour".
Public transport (tram, bus, train) is NOT included — apart from the two tourist buses mentioned. That's the classic trap: you think you've "paid for everything", then discover you still need tram tickets.
Nice bonuses: the 72h pass includes a free cruise (Trans Côte d'Azur), and all passes give -10% on trips from Nice.
Is it worth it? The calculation
Reminder of entry prices without the pass (2026): Matisse museum €12, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild €18, Villa Kérylos €15, Cimiez archaeology museum €5, boat trip €35.
Two visits are enough to make the 24h pass worthwhile (e.g. Matisse €12 + Ephrussi €18 = €30, exactly the pass price — and you still have the whole day). A single boat trip (€35) already exceeds the pass price. For a stay of museums + villas + cruise, the 72h pass at €65 is unbeatable: those three activities alone would cost €77 separately.

- Watch out for closures: many museums close on Mondays or Tuesdays. Check before activating the pass;
