A hotel-museum
Over the course of a century, the Negresco has become something of an emblem of the city of Nice. Its extraordinary architecture, striking colours, equally impressive décor and immaculate façade make it impossible to remain indifferent to its charm.
Located at 35 Promenade des Anglais, the Negresco offers its wealthiest guests an exceptional view of the sea. With rates ranging from €230 per night for a single room facing the interior to €1,800 per night for a luxury suite with a sea view, few lucky people will be able to afford a night there (check the prices, though). Rest assured, in addition to admiring its superb façade, you can enter the lobby and visit the oval lounge at the end opposite the entrance. You will discover a superb glass vault and a permanent exhibition of works of art. Like a museum, the room is accompanied by an explanatory panel at its entrance.
The lounge is lined with shops selling luxury items such as bags, clothing, paintings, etc. Don't hesitate to go in, as admission is free. Please note that photography is not allowed inside.
Feel free to have a drink inside or on the terrace. Admittedly, the prices are high, with the cheapest drink costing €8.50 and the others costing at least €13, but what class!
