Illusion Nice: tickets, opening times and visiting the museum
At 5 rue Masséna, three minutes from place Masséna, illusion Nice offers more than 50 interactive illusions in a self-guided visit lasting 45 minutes to 1h45. 2026 opening times, official prices (€18, €17 and €15) and ticketing: the full picture before you book.
Open since October 2024 in the heart of Nice, illusion Nice, the interactive illusion museum, has set up on the pedestrian rue Masséna, a three-minute walk from place Masséna and the tram stop of the same name. Trompe-l'œil, mirrors, photo spots and a shop: here is what you need to know before buying your ticket.
Where is illusion Nice?
Address: 5 rue Masséna, 06000 Nice. The street is pedestrianised, in the very heart of the Masséna district: three minutes on foot from place Masséna, with the "Masséna" tram stop nearby. By car, the Masséna and Sulzer car parks are the closest.
2026 opening times
Opening times published by the official website: Monday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm; Friday to Sunday from 9am to 8pm. On public holidays, during school holidays and in July-August, opening is extended from 9am to 8pm. Note: the last entry is 45 minutes before closing, arrive by 5.15pm on weekdays, or 7.15pm at weekends.
Official 2026 prices: €18, €17 and €15
The official website lists three prices: adult €18; reduced rate €17 (students, teachers, people with disabilities); children aged 7 to 17 €15. Children aged 6 and under enter free (one per paying adult). Tickets are neither refundable nor changeable.
Watch out for a discrepancy: the tourist office listing still shows old prices (€15 and €12, "until 31/12/2026"). The museum's official website is authoritative, trust the amounts above when you buy.
What do you see during the visit?
The visit, self-guided and without a guide, consists of more than 50 interactive illusions: trompe-l'œil, mirror rooms, optical effects and installations designed for photos. The details of the rooms are not published by the museum, and the installations may change. Allow from 45 minutes for the most hurried to 1h45 for families and groups who play along. A souvenir shop rounds off the tour.
Accessibility and visiting as a family
The museum is fully accessible to wheelchair users, with a dedicated lift. For families: child rate from age 7, free up to age 6, and the self-guided visit lets you go at the pace of the youngest, it is also a safe bet on a rainy day in Nice.
How to buy your tickets?
The official website ticketing is the recommended channel: full price with no intermediary fees, and that is where the opening-time and price information is most up to date. The Tiqets (tickets from €18) and GetYourGuide (skip-the-line option) platforms also offer entry.
Contacts: +33 4 23 11 00 33 and info@illusionnice.fr. Book online during the busiest periods (weekends, holidays, rainy days), even though the ticket remains non-refundable and non-changeable.
Don't confuse it: the "Musée de l'Illusion" chain is not in Nice
Several visitors arrive looking for "the Musée de l'Illusion" with a capital M: the French chain bearing that name (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille) has no address in Nice. The Paradox Museum, another illusion brand, exists only in Paris. In Nice, the address is illusion Nice, 5 rue Masséna, and the virtual-reality experiences sold separately by some platforms do not correspond to this museum either.
