Skiing from Nice: Auron & Isola 2000 Day Trip

Ski near Nice
Less than 90 minutes from Nice, several ski resorts offer an easy mountain escape from the Riviera coast.
Gréolière les Neiges: an ideal resort for beginners
Gréolière-les-Neiges is the closest winter sports resort to Nice. Less than an hour's drive away, you can quickly reach the slopes by car or bus. This small resort is particularly suitable for short stays and families. The slopes are mainly geared towards beginners. Please note that the altitude is low. Check the snow conditions before setting off.
Good to know: the resort is ideal for snowshoeing, for all ages.
Downhill skiing is possible on 22 slopes (30 km), including 4 green, 4 blue, 12 red and 2 black.
76 snow cannons for periods of low snowfall.

Auron: a family-friendly ski resort with a village atmosphere
Auron is undoubtedly the most attractive resort in the Southern Alps. In any case, it offers something for everyone. Less than an hour and a half's drive from Nice, the resort is built around a charming village with many traditional chalets. There are a few interesting restaurants, all in keeping with the mountain spirit, both in the village and on the slopes. The slopes are suitable for everyone, with numerous runs for beginners and challenging slopes for the more experienced. The ski area is large and varied. Two things to bear in mind: firstly, the sun sets very early and it's not unusual to find yourself in the shade from 3 or 4 pm onwards. Secondly, at weekends, the resort is a victim of its own success and the slopes and lifts are often crowded.
Nothing serious, of course, and Auron remains our favourite resort in the Southern Alps. An ideal and charming holiday destination!

Isola 2000: a 100% pure skiing resort
Isola 2000 is Auron's great rival, larger and more focused on skiing. Totally geared towards skiing, the resort has been "placed" in an optimal location: its construction site was chosen to guarantee maximum snow cover. As a result, the resort is really enjoyable for skiing, but much less so for other activities. Considered by some to be lifeless and concrete-covered, it nevertheless has an endearing side. It is the only resort that can easily compete with the resorts of the Northern Alps in terms of its slopes and skiing. There are numerous shops and accommodation options, as well as parking. The slopes are suitable for all levels. Less charming than Auron but better for skiing.
