Place Rossetti Nice: Heart of Old Town
With its Italian character and lively atmosphere, Place Rossetti is one of the essential stops in any Old Nice itinerary.
An unmissable gourmet stopover in Old Nice
In the heart of Old Nice, Place Rossetti is one of the only open spaces in the old town. Entirely pedestrianised, it can be explored while visiting the historic districts. Lined with numerous terraces of typical restaurants and cafés, but above all with Nice's largest ice cream parlour, Fenocchio, it is the ideal place for a gourmet break. You can't leave Nice without trying one of its incredible flavours, including Kinder, rose, tomato and basil, and even beer.
During the day or in the evening, Place Rossetti is the ideal starting point for finding a restaurant or pub.
Saint-Réparate Cathedral
On a more cultural note, Saint-Réparate Cathedral, with its entrance on Place Rossetti, is also worth a visit. Dating from the late 17th century, this Baroque-style building is topped with a dome of glazed tiles in the Genoese style.
Although admission is free, remember that a cathedral is first and foremost a place of worship and that a certain degree of reserve is required.
Curiosities of Place Rossetti
Laundry hangs everywhere in Old Nice. Often between two buildings, it can be seen in the windows on Place Rossetti. Nothing extraordinary, of course, but it does add a fun and colourful touch to the facades of these buildings.
